What do you call a full moon?

So, we all know that full moons only happen once a month…at least I hope we all know that. What I didn’t realize is that there is a precise time and date when the moon is at its fullest each month and that each of these moons has a name. Luckily there is something called the “full moon calendar” that will help you track it. The next one is March 10, 2017, mark your calendars! (http://chg.bz/2lsbyyB)

Rowing all the way home….

As some of you know I am a proponent of Crossfit. I recognize it’s not for everyone so I’m not suggesting you all jump on that.  However, one of the tools that Crossfit uses is the Concept 2 Model D rower. I’ve used it and it is a true workhorse.  It’s virtually indestructible and takes up very little room. If you’re looking for a way to workout at home that is efficient and effective this is it.  (http://chg.bz/2kDpmWl)

What does the Lease say….?

I recently started consulting (management consulting not legal) a small business in the construction sector. One of the very first things I noticed is something that seems to plague every business that I come across; the business owner doesn’t understand their commercial lease. I’m not sure why that is so common, particularly since it is such a fundamental aspect of operating expenses. If you’re running a business and don’t know what your responsibilities are under the lease versus what you’re landlord is supposed to provide, then you are at a complete disadvantage. I know its painful, the small print is scary and all that nonsense. Pull out your lease and read it. Read it a few times. If you don’t understand it, find someone who can help you. It could be the difference between success and failure for your business.

Mobile Data Storage

If you are looking to go mobile with a large amount of data I have a great option for you.  LaCie Rugged mobile storage drives are the industry standard. I have used them to transport audio and video files from the field, store large files that I don’t want to keep on my laptop and back up important files in multiple places. I rely on these drives to store the audio from podcasts that I sometimes record on location. This is a much better option then a USB drive both in terms of storage size and stability. In my experience they’re a very reliable tool. (http://chg.bz/2kChhBc)

Executive Order

President Trump recently signed an executive order placing certain restrictions on immigration policies and procedures. It has caused a reaction from people on both sides of the aisle.  We all have our opinions and of course we are all entitled to them. But I thought it might be useful for all involved to read the actual executive order in its entirety and not an abridged or annotated version that you might easily find on social media or some news outlet. So to that end, here is the full text from the Federal Register. It might be a difficult read in some spots but I assure you it is worth the effort. (http://chg.bz/2kzE3Kh)
